- Participants under the age of 18 must have their parent/guardian present at registration.
- Spectators are allowed at The Chow Challenge for free.
- Spectators are not allowed on course; however, there will be opportunities to view participants on course.
- Parking is free.

What is The Chow Challenge?
The Chow Challenge is a 5K Obstacle Course Run (OCR) aimed at providing participants with an unique, unforgettable take on the 5K while benefiting The Caring Commodores, an organization supplying children in our community with food for the weekends when they may otherwise go without.
Is there a minimum age to participate in The Chow Challenge?
No - we recommend participants be 10 years old, but participation is at the discretion of the parent/guardian.
What should I wear to The Chow Challenge?
You should start with a good pair of trail running shoes and light-weight, breathable clothing. Compression socks, gloves, and a hat are options. Keep in mind that you will get wet and dirty at The Chow Challenge.
Do I have a specific start time?
Yes - you will receive an e-mail 1 week before The Chow Challenge with your designated start time.
Can I change my start time?
Yes - although The Chow Challenge will designate start times to provide the optimal experience on course, we understand that you may wish to start earlier/later or wish to run with a specific group. We will accommodate your change the day of The Chow Challenge at registration when you sign in.
How long will The Chow Challenge take?
The average finish time for an obstacle course 5K is 1-2 hours. That said, The Chow Challenge is not a timed race, so you or your team can go at its own pace.
How hard is The Chow Challenge?
The Chow Challenge is different for everyone. We have designed the course to challenge seasoned 5K and OCR runners, yet be fun and achievable for everyone.
What types of obstacles will be on The Chow Challenge?
Expect to find all of the OCR classics including monkey bars, rope swings, walls, low crawls, cargo nets, tire flip, mud pit and water dunk!
Can I skip and obstacle?
Yes - if you are unable or unwilling to complete an obstacle, simply go around. No penalty, no burpees!
Will there be water on course?
No - food and refreshments will be available in the Vendor Area only. Be sure to bring any food or drink with you necessary to complete a 5K.
